![]() ![]() Survival: These are the generic rules of the game in which you build and defend from zombies. You can also create alliances with players who join. Your only option is to quit and reload, as going offline kicks everyone off the server. Furthermore, joining or creating an online game does not allow you to kick players from your game. Instead, you have a few presets to choose from. Multplayer: When playing online, you don't get the same range of customization. ![]() Private Game: This offers the same customization as single player, but you can invite friends as well. It still offers all the same options, with a nice range of options to customize. Single Player/ Splitscreen: The wide open survival world, but on your own or with someone next to you. The first option is simply who you play with, which consists of the following: There are three options for how to play, with settings within each option. I've divided each game mechanic and rated them individually so that anyone looking into the review can see a rating of each one since often times some mechanics matter to one person more than another. And since the other review here on TA didn't include Multiplayer, I feel that I can at least add to what has already been said. While other reviews sum up 7 Days to Die quite well, there are many things missed unless explored in the game. This review comes from over 200 hours of both enjoyment and agony. At times, it's almost ridicouls how much crafting you HAVE to do, and the extents you need to go to find what you need (or maybe I'm just unlucky when it comes to scavenging). There's a lot of crafting in this game, it's almost more of a craft sim with zombies thrown in for giggles. ![]() Cloth in the tundra? I always wanted hypothermia (and by that, I mean to be dead). Leather in the desert, yeah, you gonna die. You'll need to keep an eye on these stats as well as others if you want to survive.Ĭlothing not only protects you from damage to a degree, but also keeps you insulated. Ever wonder what your hydration levels were? Or if you were too hot or too cold? Maybe you're curious about what that dirty water may do (protip: dysentery)? Well, this is the game for you, all of that is in this game (and more). This isn't your ordinary Minecraft clone, it is VERY in-depth. Otherwise, get friendlt with those triggers, you'll be using them a bit, they are used to play, upgrade, attack, and "other" functions (some items have unique uses, like said upgrading). If you've played Minecraft, you'll adapt pretty quickly to these controls (and I mean, MC was free the week prior to this writing, so why wouldn't you have played it?). This type of game does well with little and low sounds, helps immerse oneself in the game if you aren't been chased around by a bunch of theremin(s?) and orchestras. Sounds are pretty basic for the most part, but that's not really a bad thing. The music is somewhat like what you'd get in Fallout, very low, almost non-existent at times. ![]()
